Grant Thornton’s International Business Center in Mexico is led by Luis Burgos Contreras, a Partner in our Mexico City office. With a wealth of experience in the international arena Luis leads a staff of bilingual, bicultural professionals in serving the firm’s Mexican offices’ clients with international operations, as well as clients of our international offices desiring to expand in or enter the Mexican marketplace. Luis earned his degree from the Universidad Panamericana where he graduated with honors.
Experience
Luis joined Salles, Sainz – Grant Thornton S.C. in 1987. Afterwards, he spent two years in the US firm’s Dallas, Texas, office where his client work was concentrated on both international and public company clients. Upon his return to Mexico City, Luis was named Audit Partner and was recruited to lead the firm’s Mexico International Business Center, positions he has held since 1998.
Sectorexperience
Focusing primarily on manufacturing, distribution, real estate and the hospitality industries, Luis has provided accounting service and general business advice to both large and small enterprises, privately owned or publicly listed.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Additionally, he is instrumental in the execution of the firm’s various in-house training programs, regularly conducting training on topics related to global business.
